Trail Ninjas Program Coordinator

The North Okanagan Cycling Society (NOCS) is seeking a Trail Ninjas Program Coordinator who is self-directed, flexible and able to work collaboratively with a team. Basic knowledge or willingness to learn: Google Drive and Google sheets/documents, and shared calendars. Must be 19 years or older and able to provide a criminal record check by January.
Four youth programs fall under the Trail Ninjas umbrella; TNT Crew, G Tribe and Academy and Mini Ninjas.
The contract is from November 1, 2026 - July 15, 2027 for up to 400 hours at a rate of $30/hour.
Program orientation with the previous Program Coordinator and NOCS Youth Program Director will be provided. Orientation will include programming overview, communications, safety planning, insurance and leader training.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Coordinate a NOCS Trail Ninjas movie night fundraiser in February.
Roll out program registration at the end of February.
Coordinate with Cycling BC to ensure basic leader training in the spring prior to the programs start date.
Recruit program leaders and volunteers and support their Cycling BC leader-training pathway as required to meet the Cycling BC standard. Empower youth and alumni Ninjas to get involved.
Review and update 2027 Budget and obtain board approval for requested increases or changes to the budget.
Coordinate coach and volunteer communication meetings prior to the program start date.
Collaborate with head coaches on the Lesson Plan as needed.
Coordinate program schedules and calendars and plan program events
Program dates and events must be reported to Cycling BC at least two weeks prior to the program start date in order to be considered sanctioned and covered by insurance.
Work collaboratively with the Youth and Trails Director to create Trail Events for the Youth in three programs.
Attend occasional NOCS board meeting and/or Youth Programs subcommittee when needed.
Be available to lead or sub in for scheduled rides if there is a shortage and be available by phone if there is any issue.
The Trail Ninja programs follow the Cycling BC and Safe Sport model of service delivery, some online training may be necessary and can be arranged.
