Sport Accident Coverage
North Okanagan Cycling Society has partnered with CapriCMW Insurance to bring their members additional benefits through Sport Accident coverage.
What is Sport Accident Coverage?
The Accident Policy pays for certain medical bills up to a pre-determined amount on behalf of injured participants. This coverage is secondary to any other health care plan(s).
Who is Sport Accident Coverage for?
This covers those participating as a player member, manager or coach of the North Okanagan Cycling Society (NORCA) in practice or competition which is organized under the supervision and direction of NORCA.
I have benefits through another health care plan, do I still get this Sport Accident benefit?
You will go to your health care plans benefits first before using this one.
What are the coverage limits?
Principal Amount: $50,000
Dental Accident Reimbursement: $10,000
Medical Expense Reimbursement: $15,000
Rehabilitation – Any one Insured Person: $3,000
Fracture Indemnity Amount: $1,000
I am a professional athlete; will this coverage apply to me?
No, this policy does not apply to and no benefits will be payable to professional athletes earning the major portion of their income from sports activity.
I am injured, how long do I have to seek medical treatment and submit a claim?
You must have required and received medical /dental treatment commencing within 30 days of the accident. Insurance provider must receive notice of your accident within 30 days of the accident date and claim documentation within 90 days from the date of accident.
